It is a
common sight to see Nagnath, a weaver working in his small cell of hand-loom
passing the shuttles back and fourth through the shed, between the yarn threads
in order to weave fabrics in the front yard of Anandi Gopal Goshala until you
see his quality cotton products required in everyday life. He is known for his
praiseworthy skill of weaving towels, garments and handkerchiefs.
It was really surprising when he
told that he has been in New Delhi to attend five days Vastra Mela which was
organised by Ministry Of Textile, Government Of India where he marketed his
products besides received an order of Rupees 50,000 from various parts of
India.
Nagnath Govind Kalaskar who hails
from Hottal village of Degloor Tehasil shifted to Sagroli with his wife and
three daughters before three years. It is when he coincidently met Pramodji who
was on a visit to Hottal. Depressed Nagnath decided to try his lucky as he
could hardly make both ends meet either in Bhiwandi or in Degloor. He was
provided with everything required to start his small scale business named as
Dattakrupa Hand-loom Industry. His wife got employed in a hostel run by SSM.
Girls were admitted in SSM school for further education.
He feels satisfied over his shift to Sagroli as his
income hiked from Rupees 5000 to 9000/ month. He also mentioned that he has
almost repaid loan which he borrowed from private money lenders. Last year his
daughter got married and second got engaged this year. At last when he was
asked “ What are your feelings at this stage of life?” He replied, “ Before
shifting to Sagroli I was almost psychologically disabled as I felt that no
hopes were left in my life. Pramodji has
really helped me a lot to stand on my own. I feel fortunate to have met him and
the meeting proved to be a life changing for me.”
